Terms of Sale & Use
Last updated: June 26, 2026
These terms govern the purchase and use of Sygal, a desktop application published by Cyrill Semah (Nogent-sur-Marne, France). By installing or buying Sygal, you agree to them.
1. The product
Sygal converts documents and images into Markdown and JSON, locally on macOS and Windows. Features are described on this website and may evolve over time.
2. Trial and licence
- A 14-day free trial is available, with no payment details required to start.
- The licence is a one-time purchase (€25 launch price, then €29), with no subscription or recurring fee.
- One licence is for a single user and may be activated on up to two machines.
- You receive free updates within the same major version.
Volume licences sold on the dedicated teams page (5, 10, 25 or 50 seats) follow the same terms as above: one-time purchase, lifetime licence, updates included within the same major version, refund available within 14 days. Only the number of seats covered varies depending on the pack purchased.
3. Payment and seller of record
Payments and invoicing are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record: Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for the transaction and issues your invoice. We never receive or store your card details. Applicable taxes (such as VAT) are included in the price shown at checkout.
4. Refunds
If Sygal does not suit you, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing contact@sygal.app.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the documents you process and for any third-party OCR provider and API key you choose to use. Costs billed by that provider are your responsibility and are not part of the Sygal licence.
6. Liability
Sygal is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages or for loss of data. You are responsible for keeping backups of your important files.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be subject to the competent French courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections.
8. Contact
