About Sygal
Sygal is a solo project. I'm Cyrill Semah, an independent developer based in Paris, and I built Sygal because I needed it myself: a way to convert documents and images into clean Markdown and JSON without uploading everything to a cloud service or paying a monthly subscription for a tool I use a few times a week.
Before Sygal, my own AI workflows were burning tokens on raw PDFs and scans full of layout noise. Converting to clean Markdown first cut that cost dramatically, and gave me a format I could actually search, edit and reuse. Sygal turns that into a proper app: 29 supported formats, a CLI for scripts and agent pipelines, and OCR routed through whichever provider you choose, with your own API key. Everything else stays on your machine.
I build, support and ship Sygal myself. If you run into a bug, have a feature request, or just want to say hello, the fastest way to reach me is contact@sygal.app.
